3 Year Professional Dancer Training

Our three-year Professional Dancer Programme is designed to develop exceptional technical ability, artistic excellence, performance mastery, and the versatility required for a successful career in today's performing arts industry.

Leading to the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Dance, validated by Trinity College London, the qualification is comparable to a BA (Hons) degree while being specifically designed for vocational dance training. Unlike a traditional university programme, our curriculum places practical learning at its core, combining intensive studio training, professional performance opportunities, and industry-focused preparation to ensure graduates are fully equipped for the demands of a professional career.

Every aspect of the programme reflects the realities of the performing arts industry, enabling students to build not only outstanding technical and artistic skills but also the confidence, resilience, and professionalism essential for long-term success.

For students wishing to extend their academic studies, the Level 6 Diploma also provides the opportunity to progress to a BA (Hons) degree through a range of university top-up pathways.

Classical Ballet

Classical ballet lies at the heart of training at Sculpture, reflecting our belief that mastery of its technique provides the foundation for all outstanding dance. Our comprehensive curriculum encompasses daily class, the Cecchetti method, pointe work, pas de deux, men’s class, repertoire and solos, each carefully designed to cultivate strength, precision, artistry and control. By anchoring our dancers in the discipline, clarity and refinement of classical ballet, we ensure that every movement, whether in rehearsal or on stage, is executed with technical excellence and expressive confidence. Ballet informs every aspect of our teaching, sculpting dancers who move with both power and grace, leaving a lasting impression of artistry and poise.

Contemporary & Jazz

To complement this rigorous classical foundation, our curriculum also places strong emphasis on the study of contemporary and jazz techniques, designed to broaden dancers’ movement vocabulary and develop a sophisticated understanding of rhythm, dynamics and expressive nuance. Contemporary classes integrate Horton, Graham, Release and Cunningham techniques, whilst in jazz, Fosse, Latin, Matt Mattox, Broadway, heels work, men’s jazz and partnering underpin the breadth of study.

These styles challenge students to extend their technical control, flexibility and artistic range, cultivating versatility and adaptability across genres. Integrating contemporary and jazz so closely within our training ensures we nurture performers who are not only technically assured but also creatively adventurous and capable of moving effortlessly between classical precision and modern innovation, expressing themselves with confidence, fluidity and a fully realised artistic voice.

Choreography

Students have extensive opportunities to create and develop their choreographic skills through workshops, performance projects and collaborative creative processes. Choreography is embedded throughout the curriculum, encouraging students to experiment, refine their creative voice and gain confidence in producing original work. Our annual choreographic competitions provide a platform to showcase student creativity, while selected works may be featured in the end of year triple bill, offering students the opportunity to see their choreography professionally rehearsed and performed as part of a high-profile production.

Further Training

In addition to our core ballet, contemporary and jazz training, students at Sculpture can broaden their skills through the study of tap, commercial, musical theatre, singing and acting.
